Special non-immigrant visa with multiple entry and indefinite stay, as described by PRA.
Philippines · retirement visa
The next chapter has to work in daily life.
SRRV offers a retirement residence to eligible applicants. Beyond deposit and category, healthcare, cover, family status and daily life matter.
THE ROUTE AT A GLANCE
Four Classic deposits. One retirement decision.
Age and a qualifying lifetime pension determine the deposit first. Then family, recurring cost and care in the chosen place decide whether it works.
Principal aged 40 or older; Classic with or without a qualifying lifetime pension.
USD 15,000–50,000 under Classic, depending on age and pension evidence.
PRA lists a USD 1,500 processing fee and USD 360 a year under Classic for up to three people.
01 / STARTING POINTS
What could this route make possible for you?
A residence right is valuable when its effect fits your life, family or business purpose.
Test retirement on the ground
Experience climate, location and healthcare personally.
Plan the next chapter together
Assess dependant rights and care for both partners together.
Know deposit and fees
Count tied capital and recurring costs before funding.

02 / LEGAL EFFECT
What the status grants. And what remains separate.
Residence, work, family and tax are not compressed into one promise.
The Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV) is a special non-immigrant visa issued by the Philippine Bureau of Immigration under the PRA program. PRA describes multiple entry and indefinite stay; it does not confer citizenship.
What qualifies for this route.
USD 25,000 Classic deposit; lifetime pension of at least USD 800 monthly alone or USD 1,000 with dependants.
USD 50,000 Classic deposit.
USD 15,000 Classic deposit with the required pension evidence.
USD 30,000 Classic deposit.
04 / LIFE BEHIND THE PERMIT
Residence alone does not settle daily life.
Who may join you, what you may do locally and how tax is affected are three distinct questions.
Family and daily life
A legally married spouse and unmarried children under 21 may apply as dependants. The standard deposit covers the principal and two dependants; PRA generally requires an additional USD 15,000 deposit for each further dependant. Joining dependants have a separate application fee.
Work and business
PRA lists exemption from separate work or student visas or permits as an SRRV benefit. Confirm its scope, professional rules and current agency practice before taking up a specific role or course.
Tax position
A residence permit does not determine tax residence on its own. Home, actual presence, activity and applicable treaties require separate review.
05 / MAINTENANCE AND OUTLOOK
Keeping the status is part of the decision.
A sound plan considers admission alongside presence, renewal and the longer outlook.
Presence
SRRV supports repeat entry and exit; actual home, tax consequences and healthcare access remain separate questions.
Renewal and duties
Maintain the deposit and PRA membership. PRA lists an annual Classic fee of USD 360 for the principal and two dependants, plus USD 100 for each additional dependant; reconfirm fees and deposit terms before remittance.
Later status
Naturalisation is not an automatic SRRV benefit; any later status follows separate rules.
06 / PROCESS AND COSTS
The next step begins before applying.
First determine whether Classic or a genuinely eligible Courtesy category applies. Then prepare a valid tourist visa, medical and police records, immigration clearance and family documents; evidence the required inward remittance at a PRA-accredited bank. PRA lists a USD 1,500 processing fee.
Calculate the whole decision.
Where minimum amounts are stated, they are legal eligibility thresholds at the documented source date, not estimates of total cost. We review fees and other costs for the individual case before filing.
- Qualifying investment or economic basis
- Government fees and translations
- Legal and tax review
- Family, insurance and location
- Ongoing duties and renewal
- Potential exit or status change
07 / FIT AND LIMITS
When this route belongs on your shortlist.
A suitable permit serves a specific purpose. Where its rights or duties do not fit, comparison with another route begins.
The deciding question
Which category is actually open given age, pension and background—and what would deposit, family and healthcare cost where you plan to live?
Where this route stops
Courtesy deposits are not a generally available lower-priced Classic option. PRA's stated work and study exemption does not settle every specific activity; insurance, medical care and possible long-term care need their own plan.
08 / WHAT NBF EXAMINES
Assess retirement, deposit and care together.
Receive a case-specific SRRV category review with a family and cost picture before remitting funds or committing to a location.
Category and deposit
Check age, pension evidence, Classic or genuinely eligible Courtesy, accredited bank and any extra dependant deposit.
Life in the place
Test location, healthcare, insurance, mobility and the real needs of both partners.
Rights and sequence
Confirm PRA evidence, fees and the scope of work or study with competent authorities; keep any later status separate.
09 / SOURCES AND REVIEW
The basis for the decision stays visible.
Programme brochures can explain routes. Responsible authorities and the current case determine their legal effect and conditions.

THE NEXT DECISION
Can SRRV support the retirement you actually want?
Establish category and deposit first. Then assess care, location, intended activity and annual cost for every person.
